FUN WITH EARTH
Terra! offers playful and educational workshops using earth as material. Cob is a mix of earth (subsoil), sand, straw and water. We can use it for building purposes and modelling shapes; mud bricks are almost the same mixture!

DID YOU KNOW?
There is a growing body of research into why kids have an inbuilt need to play in mud, suggesting that mud play is a basic biological need, and this type of play has many physical, psychological and emotional benefits for children.
The children will learn how to make mud bricks or cob using natural materials such as clay, sand, and straw under the guide of experienced instructors who are passionate about sustainability and environmental awareness, and they will experience the health benefits to handle soil and be in connection with nature. Our workshops are tailored to suit the specific ages and requirements of different groups and can be linked to many subjects in the Victorian curriculum. But the most important thing is that they are FUN!
COB WORKSHOP
Join our hands-on workshop and unleash your imagination with the squishy and versatile cob material. From houses to towers, slides to animal sculptures, the possibilities are endless—let your creativity soar! The cob will be ready for the kids and all they need to do is jump on it to reactivate it.

*Adults are required to participate in the age group 3-5 and are suggested to participate to age group 6-9
MUDBRICK WORKSHOP
Children will learn about sustainability in architecture, will see examples of earth buildings around the world and will learn about the components of soil. Then they will mix natural materials to form their mud bricks. The fun comes with the education—handling the soil, stomping on the mix, moulding the brick!

Children will learn about the benefits of raw earth architecture in a safe environment. They will observe and handle natural materials and learn simple tests to explore soil components while developing manual skills and creativity. Through the process of making their own mud brick, they will achieve a sense of well-being, self-confidence and a deeper connection with nature.
